Hey Cougs! It's the that time of year where students are looking for financial aid to help with next year's classes. It can be overwhelming, so we've provided a list of different scholarships that are available to you!

McKay School Scholarships

The deadline for BYU's campus scholarships is already passed, but the McKay School has 100+ scholarships to offer! It's so easy- you only have to fill out one form for all of them! The deadline is March 1st. You must be admitted to your major's program. (If you're in the process of applying, you will still be considered as long as you will be done by April.) If you're still a premajor, read on to see other scholarship opportunities!

Nationwide Scholarships

The best and easiest thing you can do to start your scholarship finding adventure is to fill out the FAFSA form. Doing so will help you get Federal Student Aid. It is also the first step in applying to a lot of other scholarships.

There are lots of scholarship websites that will ask for your basic information in order to match you up with scholarships specific to you, but not all of these websites are actually helpful. Some are even scams, which I will say more about later. One of my personal favorite websites to find scholarships from is Scholarship America. All lot of their scholarships are for specific needs or talents. You want to tell it all about yourself (without giving it private information, of course). I was able to get a scholarship using this website because my dad worked for a specific company! All sorts of scholarships are available to high school students and current university students.

Do be careful when using various third party scholarship websites. If they ask you for a form of payment or credit card information, they are definitely not legit. Some websites aren't out to steal your information, but will send you countless annoying emails without you even getting a scholarship from them. So be wary and careful before signing up and making accounts.

Good luck with all of your scholarship finding! There are so many places to find scholarships, and the hardest part is just knowing where to look. Good luck as well to everyone applying to their majors this fall (like me)! I can't wait to see you around the McKay Building!
